Opinel is known around the world for pocket knives built to endure generations of everyday use. The Everyday Carry Kit includes an Opinel No.8 pocket knife with stainless steel folding blade and beechwood handle -- the most-sold, versatile knife in the Opinel lineup, and comes with an Alpine sheath to keep your No.8 secure and sharp for years to come.

Features

This combo pack comes in a box that can be gift wrapped.
The No8 is the most sold and versatile size in the ever growing line of Opinel folding knives. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its 3 1/4" blade prevents it from being considered a weapon in most states (please check with your state).

Blade length

8.5 cm - 3.35 in

When it was first invented, the OPINEL blade was made of carbon steel. We still use a similar grade today, with an approximate carbon content of 0.90% which still has advantages over stainless steel Our carbon steel is extremely hard, thereby guaranteeing excellent cutting quality, good wear resistance and easy regrinding. Carbon can corrode easily, we advise you to avoid damp locations and to wipe and grease the blade after use.

Handle

Beechwood
Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, our beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small, -dark dashes.

Yatagan Style

The classic Opinel blade has adopted a Yatagan shape. The Yatagan shape is inspired by a traditional Turkish saber, the toe up. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows efficient regrinding.

Safety ring

Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives as of the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport)
